O acidente aconteceu no KM 313 da linha f\u00e9rrea, na altura da localidade conhecida como \u2018Rua da Palha\u2019, sentido ao munic\u00edpio Queimadas\/BA. De acordo com informa\u00e7\u00f5es obtidas pela reportagem, a composi\u00e7\u00e3o estava vazia e seguia para o povoado de Cacimbas, na cidade de Iti\u00faba\/BA, onde seria carregada. Funcion\u00e1rios da VLI, empresa que administra a ferrovia, estiveram no local e fizeram reparos na linha f\u00e9rrea, que opera normalmente.
