A Codevasf-Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do S\u00e3o Francisco e Parna\u00edba, promoveu nesta ter\u00e7a-feira 25, um Dia de Campo. O superintendente da 3\u00ba Regional Petrolina, Aurivalter Cordeiro e um grupo de engenheiros e t\u00e9cnicos visitaram a propriedade de experimento localizado no Projeto de Irriga\u00e7\u00e3o Nilo Coelho, N\u00facleo 5.<\/p>\n

O engenheiro agr\u00f4nomo, coordenador da pesquisa, Paulo Roberto Lopes conta que o experimento dessas novas frutas no semi\u00e1rido j\u00e1 pode ser considerado uma marca de sucesso.<\/p>\n

As ma\u00e7\u00e3s plantadas no Vale do S\u00e3o Francisco t\u00eam apresentado cada vez melhores qualidades. “Tem gente que n\u00e3o acredita, mas a colheita est\u00e1 aqui para provar”, revela Paulo Roberto, ressaltando a import\u00e2ncia da tecnologia e do trabalho em parceria.<\/p>\n

Paulo Roberto explica que os tipos de ma\u00e7as plantadas na \u00e1rea de experimento s\u00e3o Julieta, Eva e Princesa. A m\u00e9dia de produ\u00e7\u00e3o da ma\u00e7a atingiu 40 toneladas por hectare e de p\u00eara 60 toneladas.<\/p>\n

Paulo Roberto ainda ressalta que o projeto continua em fase de pesquisa, mas que o maior desafio foi adaptar frutas que exigem at\u00e9 350 horas de frio de 7,2\u00b0 C ao calor do semi\u00e1rido. No caso da ma\u00e7\u00e3, as variedades Eva, Princesa e Julieta apresentaram os melhores resultados.<\/p>\n

O empres\u00e1rio Teofilo Ferreira Corcino diz que a expectativa \u00e9 ir conquistando o mercado e aprimorar cada vez mais a qualidade da produ\u00e7\u00e3o. At\u00e9 o momento a ma\u00e7a \u00e9 vendida para Recife, Pernambuco e Feira de Santana, na Bahia.<\/p>\n

“Estamos trabalhando, acreditando na potencialidade da produ\u00e7\u00e3o de ma\u00e7a na regi\u00e3o do Vale do S\u00e3o Francisco”, diz Teofilo.<\/p>\n

Das culturas pesquisadas, a pera apresenta forte apelo comercial, j\u00e1 que a produ\u00e7\u00e3o nacional n\u00e3o atinge nem 10% do total consumido. O consumo atual \u00e9 da ordem de 180 mil toneladas, sendo a maioria importada da Argentina, Estados Unidos, Uruguai, Chile e pa\u00edses Europeus.<\/p>\n

A produ\u00e7\u00e3o nacional de ma\u00e7\u00e3 \u00e9 de cerca de 1,2 milh\u00e3o de toneladas por ano, quantidade ainda insuficiente para abastecer o mercado interno, tanto que ainda s\u00e3o importadas mais de 50 mil toneladas. O consumo na regi\u00e3o Nordeste tem aumentado nos \u00faltimos anos.<\/p>\n

“S\u00e3o estes motivos que a Codevasf e a Embrapa acreditam, no crescimento da produ\u00e7\u00e3o com qualidade da ma\u00e7a nordestina que nos pr\u00f3ximos anos deve ganhar um espa\u00e7o maior gerando mais renda e emprego”, finalizou Aurivalter Cordeiro.<\/p>\n
