O projeto ir\u00e1 retirar \u00e1gua do S\u00e3o Francisco, no reservat\u00f3rio de Sobradinho, e cruzar o estado passando por 44 cidades do interior da Bahia, um percurso de 300 km, que beneficiar\u00e1 1,2 milh\u00e3o de pessoas.<\/p>\n<p>As terras de Juazeiro e Petrolina s\u00e3o exemplos de que, com irriga\u00e7\u00e3o, a terra seca se torna f\u00e9rtil. Com \u00e1gua, o que \u00e9 plantado, cresce, gerando alimentos, empregos e desenvolvimento para os nordestinos.<\/p>\n<p>Para o ministro Rog\u00e9rio Marinho, o projeto contribuir\u00e1 para a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de empregos e renda \u00e0 regi\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cO futuro Canal do Sert\u00e3o Baiano ser\u00e1 indutor de desenvolvimento por onde ele passar. Teremos mais gera\u00e7\u00e3o de renda e de empregos em uma regi\u00e3o que necessita de apoio para crescer.
